I really love getting thank you notes in the mail. Not just to read a friendly thanks from a friend, client or loved one, but also to see what the stationery looks like. When I design, I am always designing custom work, so I try to make the design reflect the person. So when I receive a notecard in the mail, I love to see what that specific person chose as their personal statement. I know most people could care less what the notecard looks like, but I guess that's part of my creative nature... to see inspiration everywhere.

Valentine's Day is fast approaching! I never really celebrated Valentine's Day until I had a baby. Even being married, my husband and I felt like it was silly to put so much pressure on February 14th. And I always remember hating Valentine's Day when I was in college. It was a day that made you feel like having a pity party for being single. You dig me all you single ladies?

And although I tell my sweet B and family I love them on a daily basis, I am now at the point in my life where I feel like I am so blessed and life is too short, so why not celebrate, and celebrate BIG!

The love train has come to town and made quite an impact in our home... Red velvet cupcakes with buttercream frosting and red sugar candy sprinkled on top... cupcake toppers with family fun messages printed on polka dot and striped backgrounds... individually wrapped chocolates... bright magenta flowers in cylinder vases... gifts for our sweet baby boy... new tennis balls for our spunky springer spaniel... and funny, cheesy Valentine's Day cards between the hubby and I. And although I still DON'T believe you should embrace love only one day out of the year, I do believe everyday is a blessing and I am thankful to have a reason to celebrate.

Today at 5:00pm kicks-off the Labor Day weekend and the majority of our friends are heading to the beach! Unfortunately for our area, the weather is kinda fishy. Rainy, rainy days with no sun in sight is what the forecast is predicting. Ugh for the beach goers. But, who can complain when we are one and half hours away from a three day weekend - woo hoo! To get you pumped up for this weekend, as I like to call the last weekend of the summer, here are a few fun pieces of stationery. Happy Labor Day weekend to you and yours!

beatin' the heat

Sorry I haven't posted since March... Let's just say this summer has been crazy, busy, fun with work and Bennett! Our sweet baby boy LOVES the beach, LOVES (to eat) the sand, and LOVES the water! We definitely have a little fish on our hands. When we aren't beatin' the heat at the beach or pool, I am a busy bee designing invitations, birth announcements and stationery.
